Employment at RAPt is subject to two satisfactory employment references (one of which should be from your most recent employer) and confirmation of your eligibility to work in UK. If your role involves client contact, we would require your agreement to work to the counselling code of ethics. If applicable to your role, we would also require proof of your professional qualifications.
If you are in recovery from your own addiction, you would need to declare this upon acceptance of an offer of employment and you should be at least three years’ clean (five years for management positions). Relapse could lead to the termination of your contract, subject to proper investigation in accordance with RAPt’s procedures.
As stated above, if your position does involve contact with vulnerable individuals, your employment would be subject to prison security clearance and/or an enhanced DBS disclosure. If you do have previous convictions, a period of five years must have elapsed since your last conviction or completion of your prison sentence and your record of previous convictions must not contain:
- Sex offences
- Offences against children
- Dealing or supply offences (if you are applying for a prison-based position)
- Arson (if you are applying for a community-based position)
