Canterbury Service

The Canterbury service provides a full range of alcohol and substance misuse interventions for adult service users living in the Canterbury, Whitstable and Herne Bay areas of Kent. Services offered include prescribed medication, health checks, blood-borne virus testing, Naloxone dispensing and needle exchange.

This service is now delivered from a range of satellite Hubs in Canterbury, Whitstable and Herne Bay.

Drop in services are run from the following locations. Anyone can come and see us at the following sites, even if they are not a current client (except at the university drop in, where we are only able to welcome current students). Our telephone number is also open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. 



University of Kent, Canterbury: 1.30pm - 4pm (term time only, students only). Address: Canterbury, Kent CT2 7NZ

Hersden Community Centre, Canterbury: 4pm - 5pm. The Avenue, Hersden, Canterbury, Kent CT3 4HL



Catching Lives, Canterbury: 9am - 2pm. Address: Station Road East, Canterbury, Kent CT1 2RB. 

The Catching Lives service also offers a needle exchange service outside of the drop in service hours. Please note that during summer months (1st April - 30th September), Catching Lives is open from 8.30am - 4.30pm on weekdays and 8.30am - 3.00pm on weekends.
